Today I want to touch on a drug problem that seems to be effecting more and more people. In fact, someone you know may very well be addicted to this drug.

Are You Addicted to Hopium?
Pronounced like this, Hopium seems to be the elephant in the room for many.
It's a dangerous drug, and I can only hope and pray you're not addicted.
While opium comes from poppies, "hopium" comes from:
uninformed decisions
lack of planning
fear of facing reality
an "I'll do it tomorrow" attitude
and more...
You probably know someone that suffers from a "hopium" addiction. Rather than facing reality and embracing control of their own lives, these poor souls are quite literally relying on a hope and a prayer.
And I'm sure I don't need to tell you there's a better way...
You don't necessarily need help from me, but it might be worthwhile to get some help and support from someone.
Make a plan, put it into action, and regularly review and update it. It's as simple as that. But simple and easy aren't the same thing, especially for someone with a hopium problem.
Or as the Cheshire cat and Alice in Wonderland discussed,
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where—” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
“—so long as I get somewhere,” Alice added as an explanation.
“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”
Personally, I believe it's good to know where you're going and how you're going to get there even if we know there will be some necessary detours and alternate routes along the way.
Shuffle to Schwab
I feel like the boy who cried wolf.
As my clients are aware, we're moving their accounts from Fidelity to Schwab.
I first reached out to everyone about this in mid-October. And here we are now, two months later.
Rest assured this is still happening, and the latest update from my operations team is that we'll be in a position to start sending out the necessary paperwork any day now.
However, many of you have asked me if/when this is happening, so I wanted to give you a quick update and let you know we're still on track.
In hindsight, I might have been a little premature in my initial communications around this.
